Heath & Adams are solid gold

LIAM HEATH powered to victory in the men’s canoe K1 sprint yesterday to start another Team GB medal rush.

It was a first Olympic title for Heath (left) after his K2 200m silver earlier in Rio and his bronze at London 2012. His gold was matched by boxer Nicola Adams (right), who retained the flyweight title she won four years ago.

But their efforts could not be matched by diver Tom Daley, who failed to reach the final of the men’s 10m platform, finishing 18th.
