CBB votes ‘leak’ storm

Bosses deny foul play

CELEB Big Brother chiefs are probing claims that voting figures were leaked hours ahead of Friday’s eviction.

It is feared punters could have used them to “scam” bookies by putting on last-minute bets.

Five housemates faced the public vote ahead of the live double eviction.

After two days of phone and text voting, viewers watched James Whale and Lewis Bloor, 26, get the boot shortly after 10.30pm.

But sources close to DJ James claimed they were told vote numbers 12 hours earlier – around 10am. They contacted the Daily Star Sunday at 5pm on Friday, claiming the figures they were given showed the pair would go.

The source said TOWIE’s Lewis and DJ James were so far behind at 10am that there was “no chance” of them being saved.

They were so confident, they claimed it was “100%” the pair would be voted off the show.

Hours later host Emma Willis announced Lewis and James were indeed the least popular.

Bosses are now likely to investigate whether there was a leak, according to insiders, as bookies risk losing out when voting figures are known.

On Friday morning, Lewis was the favourite to go with William Hill offering odds of 2/5, while James was just behind on 11/4. The odds on the pair going were 8/13.

Punters can bet on an eviction until just minutes before it happens.

Producers strongly denied allegations of a leak, with a Big Brother spokesman last night saying: “Our voting information is tightly guarded, known only by a very small number of people.

“The final result is never known, nor disclosed until after voting closes.”
