Emeli hit not Wretched

-

His second studio record has been five years in the making due to longrunning issues with his former label Ministry of Sound, who only wanted him to release singles.

The Don’t Go lyricist, who is now signed to Polydor, told me: “I poured my heart out into this record.

“I was literally shedding tears. That’s never happened before when I made a record. It’s the most personal record I’ve made.

“Don’t make me sound soft but at one point it hit home how far I’d come and I had to use my sleeve to wipe away tears. Making music EMELI Sande’s longawaited second album will blow the critics away, according to close pal Wretch 32.

It’s been over four years since the singer’s award-winning debut record Our Version Of Events took the world by storm.

And Wretch reckons the heavily delayed follow-up will not disappoint fans.

He said: “I’ve had the benefit of hearing some of the songs and people better be prepared to be blown away. “It’s incredible. The lyrics, the music and of course for me is therapy. When I get it off my chest I feel a weight off my shoulders.” Wretch is now No.1 on the iTunes album chart but admits worrying no one would care about his comeback. He added: “There’s always that worry, wondering if anyone will remember your name or care.” His new album is out now. her voice are incredible. She has nothing to worry about.”

Emeli features on Wretch’s new album track I.O.U.

He added: “She’s my favourite artist to be in the studio with. I honestly think she is the best in the world at what she does.”

And Wretch is hoping the talented artist returns the favour when her album finally drops later this year.

He added: “We worked on a few things together. I’ve not seen her track listing so I don’t know if any of it features on her album but I hope so.”
