HALLIWELL COULD BE CLAUDIA’S KILLER Cop’s amazing claim over chef

-

DOUBLE killer Chris Halliwell murdered missing chef Claudia Lawrence, the police officer who nailed him sensationally claimed yesterday.

Ex-Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher revealed that cabbie Halliwell’s dad lived near where Claudia, 35, was last seen.

He said he believes Halliwell is a key suspect in the unsolved case.

Mr Fulcher said: “Claudia Lawrence disappeared from York seven years ago and while Halliwell lived and worked in Swindon he did have a link to the area.

“His father lived a few streets away from where Claudia went missing on March 18, 2009.

“It fits in with his pattern of behaviour – abducting women walking alone either late at night or early in the morning.

“I believe Halliwell is involved in Claudia’s disappearance and he should be investigated as soon as possible.”

Mr Fulcher, who quit Wiltshire & Police in 2012, also explained links between Halliwell and three of the four other women police think he may have killed.

Linda Razzell, 41, vanished in 2002. Although her estranged husband Glyn was convicted of her murder, he still protests his innocence. Mr Fulcher said: “Linda Razzell is understood to have had a relationship with her builder. Halliwell did building work at her house.

“She has been missing since the evening of March 18, 2002, and there are potential issues with the forensics in the investigation.

“Linda’s husband, Glyn, is serving life imprisonment for her murder but has always claimed his innocence.”

Sally-Ann John, 23, was working as a prostitute in 1995 on the street in Swindon where Halliwell lived when she vanished.

Mr Fulcher said: “Halliwell is known to have had a relationship with Sally-Ann.

“She has been missing since 1995 and I believe Halliwell is a suspect in this case.”

Melanie Hall, 25, was last seen alive at Cadillacs nightclub in Bath, Somerset, on June 9, 1996. Her remains were found near the M5 in Gloucestershire 13 years later.

Police have distanced Halliwell from Melanie’s murder. But Mr Fulcher believes her abduction matches his way of operating.

The former detective brought Halliwell’s murder spree to an end in 2011 when he arrested him over the disappearance of Sian O’Callaghan. The killer led the senior investigating officer to where he had left Sian’s body at the side of a country road.

Halliwell then asked him: “Do you want another one” before leading officers to the remains of Becky Godden. She disappeared in 2003, eight years earlier.

Mr Fulcher was found to have broken police procedures during questioning, but he says he went by the book.

It meant Halliwell could not be charged with Becky’s murder until further evidence was uncovered years later.

He was found guilty of murdering Sian in 2011. And he was finally convicted of Becky’s killing last week. Halliwell is now beginning a whole life term in prison.

Mr Fulcher was suspended, and found guilty of gross misconduct. He quit the police four years ago and is now working as a security consultant in Somalia.
