BRAD BEGGED TO TAKE A LIE TEST Bid to convince Angelina he didn’t cheat

-

Brad, Ange and their six kids before the couple parted BRAD Pitt was so desperate to save his marriage he offered to take a lie detector test to prove he had not cheated, it is claimed.

Pitt, 52, begged Angelina Jolie, 41, to let him undergo a polygraph to put an end to rumours of an affair with actress Marion Cotillard, 40, on the Allied movie set.

A source close to the couple said: “Angie hated all the female attention Brad would get.

“She is very jealous and insecure, despite being one of the most beautiful women in the world.

“They had a number of arguments about his closeness to Marion.

“Brad did all he could to reassure her there was nothing going on and even offered to take a polygraph test to prove he was telling the truth. “Sadly for him she refused.” The news emerged as Marion, who is expecting her second child with partner Guillaume Canet, 43, was forced to issue a statement denying an affair.

Angelina filed for divorce from Pitt amid hotly-denied rumours of drug taking and abusive behaviour towards their six children by Brad.

But we can reveal the Fight Club star has been battling to save his marriage for more than a year.

He called on his mum Jane to help keep the relationship from heading to the divorce courts.

Our source a dded: “Jane WORLD EXCLUSIVE MIKE PARKER in LA BRAD Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s six children will be quizzed by social services about a mid-air altercation that ended their parents’ marriage.

Welfare workers will ask the youngsters, aged eight to 15, to detail exactly what happened aboard the private jet flight.

Pitt allegedly lost his temper “verbally and physically”.

He and Jolie have already given full voluntary statements to the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services, the Daily Star Sunday can exclusively reveal. But neither will be present when Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight, give individual evidence.

This is normal practice, according to LA family therapist Lee Miller.

She said: “Parents and lawyers are excluded so children cannot be steered or coerced in their answers.”

Oscar winner Angelina is demanding custody of the youngsters in her divorce case against the Fury actor.

But a long-time member of her inner circle told the Daily has always believed that all problems are fixable. “She was distraught when Brad split from his first wife Jennifer Aniston and tried everything she could to help Brad and Angie stay together.” Meanwhile, a top US lawyer said Angelina would struggle to move her children to Britain, amid reports she is planning to leave Los Angeles for London. Family law expert Jim Fedalen said: “Even though she is seeking sole physical custody, her divorce filing accepts that Brad will share legal custody.

“She would need his permission, as well as that of the court, to even take them out of the state of California.”

Pitt has assembled a team of three top lawyers to fight Angelina’s bid for sole physical custody.

Mr Fedalen added: “He can seek a restraining order at any time to prevent her taking the youngsters abroad.”
