IT WOULD BE JUST LIKE A HOLIDAY, CLAIMS ROCKER

-

RYAN Tedder is the latest big name to turn down a job on ITV’s revamped The Voice.

Sir Paul McCartney, Jess Glynne, Phil Collins and former coach Kylie Minogue have already declined.

I can reveal OneRepublic star Ryan has ruled himself out too.

He’s too busy promoting the US band’s forthcoming album Oh My My and writing hits for Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Ariana Grande.

Chatting about The Voice UK at the Apple Music Festival at London’s Roundhouse, Ryan told me: “I get phone calls every few months from different territories around the world. The UK show has just been in contact to see if I’m interested, but it’s not right at the moment.

“My incentive to do the UK Voice would be because I wanted a six-month vacation in London.

“It feels like I would do that when I was tired and needed a holiday. I’m not saying what they do isn’t hard. But if you see my schedule, that job is a fun vacation to what I do.”

The Voice moves from the BBC to ITV in the New Year. Will.i.am is confirmed to return, with axed KEVIN Simm is attempting to become the first Voice winner not to end up a pop flop.

But despite no previous champ ever having a hit record the likeable former Liberty X star isn’t losing any sleep about imminent chart positions.

Admitting this is his last coach Sir Tom Jones certain to come back.

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is also close to signing but the fourth spot is a mystery.

Host Emma Willis is back but not her sidekick Marvin Humes.

Ryan added: “I have too much on. I’ve limited songwriting recently but have worked with Ed Sheeran, am going back into the studio with Sam Smith and I have written a song for Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande.”

OneRepublic, Elton John and Alicia Keys performed at the Apple Music Festival last week.

Robbie Williams plays tonight, and Bastille, Britney Spears, Michael Bublé and Chance The Rapper will perform later in the week.

See applemusicfestival.com for their performances. shot at chart domination Kevin said: “There’s no next shot for me at a recording career. This is it. I need to make sure it works.

“Having said that I’ve always been a very realistic person. Unless you are one of the big guns it’s about survival. It doesn’t matter if something is really good or all but not. It’s about luck and there’s a lot of things you can’t control.

“I’ve done my job and made what I think is a really strong album. “I’m not going to lose sleep over the things I can’t control.”

Defending last year’s winner Stevie McCrorie Kevin, who has just released single Wildfire, added: “Stevie made a good album but didn’t get the support from radio. Sometimes success is out of the artist’s hands.”

Kevin’s debut solo album Recover is out October 28 and available

for pre-order now.
