Kieran is at double to deliver the points

-

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest with Kieran Lee scoring a stoppage-time winner.

Lee was already the hero after earlier cancelling out Henri Lansbury’s first-half opener with a goal which looked like rescuing a point for the South Yorkshire side.

Lansbury gave Forest the lead against the run of play in the 35th minute when he beat Keiren Westwood, with the aid of a deflection, from 30 yards out.

Apostolos Vellios threatened to add a second moments later when his firm shot was saved by Westwood.

The equaliser came in the 68th minute when Ross Wallace delivered a rightwing corner which was met by a far-post header from Lee.

Steven Fletcher headed wide and Fernando Forestieri had an effort deflected wide while Jack Hunt saw his drive saved by Vladimir Stojkovic with Almen Abdi putting the follow-up straight at the keeper.

Forest skipper Chris Cohen also came to his side’s rescue when he headed off the line after Wallace chipped Stojkovic.

At the other end, Westwood comfortably dealt with a header from Matt Mills late on.

With normal time up, Lee scored the winner from close range after receiving the ball from Fletcher.

Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal was relieved to see his side come from behind.

He said: “If the plan of the team is to kill me, they are very near, I must tell you. One more game like this and they will kill me!

“We created a lot of chances to win the game. Nottingham Forest were very difficult and organised opponents and they had some chances also.

“When questions are put to us, we must give the correct answers and I felt we did that so we are happy.”

Forest head coach Philippe Montanier said: “There was a foul in the build-up to the winning goal. Sheffield don’t need this help because they are a very good team.”
