Grealish axed and fined for late night
ASTON VILLA midfielder Jack Grealish was dropped from last night’s visit of Newcastle and fined following an investigation into his conduct, boss Roberto Di Matteo revealed.
But Grealish, 21, will train with the first team tomorrow and be available for Villa’s trip to Barnsley on Tuesday.
“He has been fined and suspended for today’s game. Tomorrow he will be back and available for selection,” Di Matteo said.
Grealish was under club investigation following reports he was at a party at a Birmingham hotel last Saturday night, with police allegedly called early on Sunday morning following complaints from guests. Di Matteo said on Thursday that Grealish (right) had to “grow up” following the issue.
The Italian is the fourth manager to have to discipline Grealish after Paul Lambert, Tim Sherwood and Remi Garde. The England U-21 player earns around £15,000 a week after signing a new four-year deal earlier this month.
