CHILDRENS’ BASH K.O’D BY CLOWNS

Thugs target hospital kids

-

A KIDS’ hospital has scrapped a party amid fears it would be targeted by “psycho clowns”.

The Great North Children’s Hospital, in Newcastle, postponed its annual clown bash at the last minute after appearing on a prankster’s hit list.

The announcement by Clown Doctors, who visit sick and dying children on wards, has left youngsters devastated.

Director Martin Wilson said a website listed the hospital as a target for “killer” clowns.

He added: “With this in mind we have agreed the sensible thing to do is to not go ahead at a time when the public are particularly sensitive to the appearance of a ROBIN COTTLE person wearing related to a clown.”

Clown-mask wearing thugs wielding knives and bats have brought terror to Britain in recent weeks. And real clowns are now receiving death threats as a result of the creepy fad.

Professional entertainer Cookie the Clown has been bombarded with scary calls and voicemails.

The funnyman, right, real name Mark Scott, is petrified of picking up the phone.

One message said: “You are a killer clown, I am going to hunt you down and kill you.”

Mark said: “I thought it was a anything one-off but then I got another call. “A lot of calls are coming in with no caller ID so if it is a real customer they will now have to contact me on my mobile phone.” Mark, from Reading, Berks, first started clowning in the early 1990s but he has now removed his postcode from Google over fears about his safety. He is also worried that the growing trend could reduce demand for the entertainers. Mark added: “If it filters down to the children and the children find clowns scary then parents may not want to hire me any more.”
