PREGNANCY STOPPED FEUD, SAYS MEL C
MEL C has revealed Geri Halliwell’s pregnancy helped the feuding Spice Girls kiss and make up. Well most of them at least!
While Geri’s baby bump has eased the band’s reunion squabbles, Mel C admitted she still wasn’t speaking to Mel B.
She said: “Thank god Geri is pregnant because it’s made us go, ‘Oh my god, this is what’s really important’.
“Let’s face it, we are all in our forties, we are all mothers, we all have partners, we all have careers.
“Of course it’s been awkward – relationships have their ups and downs.
“I haven’t spoken to Melanie for a while though. It’s not that I’m not speaking to her but I haven’t spoken to her for a long time.
“Some of my relationships with some of the girls in the band have been difficult at times but I will never not love them.”
Mel C and Victoria Beckham were both in the band’s bad books for refusing to reunite for a comeback tour.
Mel B branded them “bitches” on US TV in what appeared to be a joke.
She also unfollowed Mel C on Twitter, the ultimate showbiz diss.
Mel C said: “I love Melanie but she is a little bit of a law unto herself.
“She has her reasons but whatever they are, I don’t know. I read about the bitches comment.
“I’ve done it myself when you say something for comedic value and it backfires. Or maybe she does mean it. But I’ve MEL C thinks it’s sad that Little Mix are talking about faking orgasms in new single Shout Out To My Ex.
The Spice Girls legend has started limiting which Little Mix videos her daughter Scarlett, seven, watches because of their new grown-up sex appeal. nothing against her. Whatever. It’s fine.”
Mel defended her comments that the reunion band GEM – featuring Geri, Mel B and Emma Bunton – would harm the Spice Girls’ legacy.
But she denied claims she had taken legal action to try to stop the girls reforming.
She added: “I have to be honest and say I don’t think it does us justice. You know, five or nothing at this point. But claims I tried to sue are b***ocks.”
Mel was promoting new solo album Version of Me which is released on Friday. I’ve had a listen and it’s up there with her best-ever material. Lyrics in the new track, which is a brutal diss to Perrie Edwards’ ex- Zayn Malik, include: “Hope she getting better sex, hope she ain’t faking it like I did babe.”
Mel said: “They’re getting more provocative. My little girl is a massive fan but I’ve started to be more sparing in what I show her. I don’t let her watch videos by artists that aren’t appropriate.
“It makes me a bit sad. I think it’s such a shame.
“It’s hard because they are just growing up and doing what they want.”
