Don’t talk RAP about Honey G blasts 50¢

RACISM ROW IS CRAZY, SAYS STAR

- by JAMES INGHAM & ED GLEAVE

RAPPER 50 Cent has hit out at claims Honey G’s X Factor act is racist. The music star warned the jibes were offensive to victims of the recent spate of race hate shootings in the US. And he claimed controversial novelty act Honey was “bringing some happiness into the world”. Her performance of a Diana Ross song last weekend plunged The X Factor into a race row. Scores of fans claimed her act was a “racist caricature”. But 50 Cent, who is black, said: “People be crazy saying Honey G’s act is racist. “For anybody who thinks a white person performing music of black origin is racist, you know they don’t know what racism really is. “Come and speak to real victims of racism who have seen their kids shot up. These people complaining ain’t got a clue.

“A middle-aged white woman rapping along to Dre and Tupac ain’t even close to being racist.”

Fiddy added: “She is entertaining, and I guarantee there is not going to be a hip-hop artist in the world who is going to be offended by her.

“I would like to see her go far, at least she is bringing some happiness into the world. My message to her is haters always gonna hate, rise above it.”

His backing came as X Factor insiders revealed the show’s bosses are terrified Honey G will win the series.

The rapper – real name Anna Gilford – is now one of the favourites, with bookies slashing her odds from 80/1 to 16/1.

Show chiefs are believed to be pinning their hopes on Matt Terry or 5 After Midnight pipping her to glory. But they fear Honey G could become unstoppable.

Our X Factor insider said: “A novelty act has never won the show before, but there’s already a fear that Honey G could be the first.

“There is a growing feeling that they’ve created an unstoppable monster in Honey.

“Not only is she becoming incredibly popular with fans, the problem is there isn’t a stand-out credible star amongst the rest of the finalists.”

But show sources revealed they are worried Honey G could be overwhelmed by all the attention she has been receiving.

Our insider said: “Honey is determined to win the show but she is becoming quite withdrawn behind the scenes.

“The truth is she is completely shocked by all the attention she has been getting, both good and bad.”
