Cel: I won’t quit over Voice role

-

NEWCOMER Ceallach Spellman reckons he won’t have to quit the series even though he’s landed a job on The Voice.

Bosses have commissioned another run of Cold Feet, which is due to start filming within months.

On the show, Cel has proved a hit with viewers as troubled teen Matthew Williams – the son of Adam (James Nesbitt).

But he has now been signed up to present the backstage stuff on the new series of The Voice in January.

Cel said: “The presenting is still very new for me. It’s only been for the last two or three years. “But having done both acting and presenting now, I very much want them both to run alongside each other.

“My love and passion is 100% the acting. That’s what I’ve known since I was seven. But it’s been nice to prove to myself and others that I don’t need to choose one or the other.”

Cel’s co-stars including Nesbitt, Fay Ripley, Hermione Norris and Robert Bathurst are all set to return next year. This series has pulled in more than eight million viewers an episode.

It ends tomorrow at 9pm on ITV. FORMER X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw will host Radio 1’s Teen Awards today. See highlights of Little Mix and Jess Glynne performing at the gig at London’s SSE Arena on CBBC at 6pm tonight. AMANDA Holden says delving into her family history made her emotional.

The BBC series will be back later this year when the BGT judge learns about her roots.

She said: “It was amazing. There were so many things I found out that rings true with my life as it is now.

“I was one of those people who couldn’t understand why people cry when they do that show. And then when I did it I cried.

“They were tears of joy and sadness. Sadness at hardship and all the things that you learn.”

Ricky Tomlinson and Danny Dyer are also lined up.
