It is a fairly understandable reaction considering the fierce competition they face. The Daily Star Sunday has been told of one satellite coaching centre for kids, run by Liverpool, which is being scrapped. It’s believed that Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp wants to concentrate on ensuring his club win the battle for the best young talent on Merseyside. And the move will also bring a money-saving benefit. United are already locked in a battle with neighbours City for the best kids on their doorstep. Meanwhile, a product of United’s academy – midfielder Andrea Pereira – is impressing while on loan in Spain with Granada. Since making his La Liga debut as a substitute in August, the Brazil Under-23s international (left) has played every minute for Granada. United’s scouts are closely monitoring his form and reporting back to manager Jose Mourinho, who has assured Pereira he has a future at Old Trafford. Pereira, 20, was born in Belgium, but his father Marcos is Brazilian and played professionally there.
