EMELI Sandé was banned from singing on tonight’s X Factor results show because she’s going head-to-head with Olly Murs in the album charts.

Emeli’s new release Long Live The Angels and Olly’s 24HRS are fighting it out after both being released on Friday.

Olly is currently leading the race selling 25,000 copies to Emeli’s 18,000.

The 2009 X Factor runner-up’s chances of coming out on top will be helped by performing new single Grow Up tonight.

Officials say Emeli, seen here ice skating at London’s National History Museum on Friday, performed last week due to scheduling reasons.

But sources claim the reason she sang before her album was released was to boost the chances of an Olly “victory”.

Our source said: “With Olly coming from The X Factor and being signed within the Sony label it was decided it would be better if Emeli didn’t also perform the same week the albums were released.”
