BODICE COUNT IS DOWN FOR STAR WARS FELICITY

-

FELICITY Jones says she is ditching her corset forever after landing a top role in the new Star Wars film.

The British actress, 33, made her name playing girly roles in period dramas.

But she is being tipped to be a Hollywood superstar after playing the lead Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Felicity revealed she had been training “like Rocky” for the movie, which is released on Thursday. She said: “It was great to finally get out of the corset. And I’m never going back.”

She said preparing for the film, which co-stars Diego Luna, was different to anything she had done before.

She added: “It was just full on, every single day. Diego and I would be doing our boxing training outside our trailers on a daily basis like we were in Rocky. Literally there were a lot of bruises.” MIKE PARKER The film looks set to make Birminghamborn Felicity an A-list name. She was paid £795,000 – twice as much as her co-stars.

She said another perk was having her own Jyn action figure. The doting auntie said: “I’m building quite a collection. My nephew, who’s one-and-a-half, likes to rip her arms off, so that’s good.”

Felicity, who has appeared in radio soap The Archers and Oscar-winning film The Theory of Everything, has been praised by Hollywood insiders.

Media analyst Mike Raia said: “From now on, she’ll be able to pick and choose every part and is guaranteed to be among the highest-paid artists in the industry.”

A senior Disney executive added: “She’s going to be looking forward to plenty more cheques with six zeros on them.”
