Bosses’ secrecy plotting

Star Wars sex siren’s happy to turn heads

STAR Wars babe Felicity Jones is not content to just be a pin-up for men – she wants to give women a thrill too.

The Brit actress’ role in new film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has made her a global star just like Carrie Fisher who played Princess Leia in the 1977 original.

In an exclusive interview, Felicity told the Daily Star Sunday: “Being told I’m now a sex symbol…well, that’s great.

“Why not? I just hope she’s appreciated by boys and by girls.

“I think people will identify with my character as a person too.

“She’s not rich or privileged. She’s literally using her own resources to fight for her life.” Felicity’s sex appeal sent her male co-stars – including hunks Riz Ahmed and Diego Luna – weak at the knees.

Producer Kathleen Kennedy said: “The men on set were pretty intimidated by her because she’s incredibly smart, she’s beautiful and she got incredibly fit. So they had to keep up with her.”

Felicity, 33, got herself in tip-top shape to play action heroine Jyn Erso in the flick, which was released last week.

She endured gruelling training before filming began.

Felicity said: “When we started we were doing costume fittings. I realised fitness was going to be a big part of it when I opened one of the cupboards in my dressing room and it was full of gym gear and trainers.

“I thought, ‘Oh someone is trying to tell me something here’. “We were at the back of Pinewood Studios in the pouring rain doing military manoeuvres with a military expert. So there was no detail that was missed when we were ED GLEAVE making this film. It was tough, but I absolutely loved it.” Rogue One, which is a prequel to the original Star Wars, has opened to rave reviews from critics and is on track to a box office smash around the world.

Felicity added: “I feel very proud of the work that’s gone into the film.” ROGUE One’s stars were banned from revealing they had landed roles in the film by movie bosses.

Fans were desperate to find out details about the flick before it was released last week.

Film chiefs went to extreme lengths to ensure the plot was kept secret by tracking scripts and insisting no phones were allowed on set. Alan Tudyk, 45, who plays K-2SO, said: “You had to keep the fact you were in the film from people. There was always a bit of paranoia.

“I only told my parents and my wife and a couple of close friends I was even in it about a month ago. ” Ben Mendelsohn, 47, who plays Orson Krennic, said: “It’s generally understood it’s a big deal and you don’t go spoiling it.

“It’s pretty rare you’re going to find someone at that level that’s going to spoil the plot for people.

“No one wants to stuff it up for fans. You want them to have the real experience.”
