BOYBAND SIGN TO SYCO LABEL

-

X FACTOR finalists 5 After Midnight are set to sign with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco.

The deal is a major vote of confidence for the trio because they only finished third in the vote.

It shows Simon thinks Kieran Alleyne, Nathan Lewis and Jordan Lee are the act with the potential to earn him the most money.

The contract now makes Matt Terry signing to RCA appear like he was snubbed by King Cowell – which he basically was.

Although the official line was that RCA was better suited to Matt’s type of music (probably a true statement), if Simon really wanted him he would have signed him regardless.

To rub salt into Matt’s wounds, even Honey-bloody-G managed to land herself a contract with Syco.

Thankfully it is just a onesingle deal then she’ll most probably be filed in the bargain bin pile along with Mr Blobby, Bob the Builder and The Cheeky Girls.

My music mole said: “The boys are overjoyed and can’t believe they are signing to Syco.

“Simon has been a big fan of 5 After Midnight throughout the series.

“Out of all the artists he thinks 5AM have the biggest gap in the market to play with. SIMON Cowell’s lady Lauren Silverman turned up to their annual post-X Factor Barbados holiday rocking this Baywatch-inspired swimsuit. Despite Lauren showing off a front to rival Pam Anderson, Simon seemed more interested in snogging his dog and grinning like a Cheshire cat on a jet ski. Son Eric was also present, as was Simon’s faithful harem including Terri Seymour and Sinitta. “There are very few boybands around at the moment and even fewer urban boybands who dance.”

The only previous X Factor winner Simon didn’t sign to his label was Matt Cardle in 2010 – and we all know how that turned out.

Simon clearly doesn’t like the name Matt.

Luckily, Matt Terry’s team at RCA seem perfect for him and after recently releasing hit albums for Zayn Malik and Olly Murs they will no doubt look after him well. The X Factor winner just might have the last laugh after all.

I’m told various labels under the Sony umbrella are still in talks to sign Saara Aalto.

A Syco spokesman would not comment on the deal.
