ISOBEL DICKINSON Ron’s divorce is finalised. Ron said Cristel will be his “forever wife”, claiming: “This one is real love. This is the last one – I promise.”
The serial groom, who has written a book called Lord of the Wedding Rings, met Cristel when he lived in Thailand with Wan, his wife number seven.
Romance blossomed in 2015 and Ron popped the question to Cristel last New Year’s Eve.
Ron, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, said: “I just know the love of a good woman like Cristel will help me through.”
But his marital merry-goround has proved the last straw for the eldest of his eight children.
Daughter Sue Feldt, 48, one of three children from his first marriage, said: “I am ashamed to call him my dad.
“I have disowned him and he will die a lonely old man because he has destroyed his family who used to worship him.” 1966: Margaret. Had two children and split after two years. 1973: Jeanette. They separated after a year. 1976: Lesley. They had two sons before Ron left in 1981. 1982: Kathy. They had a daughter and divorced in 1986. 1986: Sue. They had two sons and divorced after 13 years. 1999: Usha. He split from his Singaporean wife four years later after cheating on her with his next bride during a Thailand holiday. 2003: Wan. She returned to Bangkok, homesick, after eight months. 2004: Weng. She moved out of the marital home after a bust-up. 2017: Cristel. Engaged on New Year’s Eve 2015, they will wed this year. Ron said: “Cristel will be my forever wife. This is the last one.”
