Jay: We’re ready to sink Steelers

-

JAY AJAYI says his Miami Dolphins are ready to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC wildcard play-off round tonight.

London-born Ajayi (below) who moved to the US when he was seven, torched the Steelers’ defence for over 200 yards rushing in their meeting in Florida in October.

His efforts helped the Dolphins to a 30-15 win and Ajayi is hopeful of a repeat performance in Pennsylvania tonight.

He said: “We understand the challenge that is ahead of us.

“It’s the first play-off game of my career. And for our team as well, there are a lot of players who haven’t experienced a play-off game.

“It’s an exciting new challenge for us and we’re ready for the opportunity.

“It’s a win-or-go-home mentality now. Every game is an elimination game, so you have to come with it.

“We played them before this season and had ALEX MILLAR success against them. They will be trying to fix their mistakes from that game and it’s going to come down to the little details and making sure everybody does their jobs.” And whether the Dolphins advance to the divisional round of the play-offs next week or not, Ajayi is happy with how his second season in the NFL has turned out. He added: “I’ve always had confidence in myself and my ability.

“Looking back at the regular season and what I’ve able to accomplish and what we have been able to do as a team, it has been very satisfying.

“But we’ve got a lot left to do and we want to finish it off the right way.”
