Second getaway for lovebirds
LOVED-UP Prince Harry is sloping off on a romantic February ski trip with Meghan Markle.
The royal is eyeing resorts in Switzerland and Norway, where the pair spent New Year.
PRINCE Harry has planned his first ski trip with Meghan Markle.
The love-struck royal is keen to share his favourite pastime with his glam girlfriend.
And he has asked his trusted advisors to plan out a winter getaway Meghan will never forget.
Harry – whose love of the slopes is well known – is yet to choose a location.
Protection officers are said to prefer the Windsors’ favourite Alps resorts, which are trusted by Palace staff.
They include Klosters, a favourite with Prince Charles, and Verbier, where Prince Andrew has a chalet.
But Harry’s New Year trip to Norway with the Suits actress has cemented his love for the Scandinavian country.
His close friend, polar explorer Inge Solheim, has suggested the couple head to a private resort in the heart of Norway’s mountains.
Solheim arranged Harry’s lavish ski trip to Kazakhstan in 2014 with then-girlfriend Cressida Bonas.
A gang of the party prince’s closest friends have now been asked if they will be available to join a group trip next month.
An insider told the Daily Star Sunday: “This will be Harry and Meghan’s first ski holiday together, which to ski bunny Harry is a big deal. It’s not just the skiing, the whole apres ski social aspect is right up his street.
“Obviously his uncle Andrew’s chalet in Verbier is preferred by his protection team because they know every inch of the land, but Harry’s love affair with Norway is only deepening after his time with Meg there at New Year.
“Inge is like Harry’s secret travel agent. He sorted the trip to Kazakhstan for Harry and Cressida and specialises in these secluded spots.”
Harry also relied on Inge, who is known as The Ice Ninja and was part of Harry’s Walking With The Wounded group, to organise his Norway trip with Meghan. The pair jetted to the remote town of Tromso in the north of the country to see in New Year. They are now holed up on Svalbard island. From there, they will head out on snowmobiles in a bid to spot polar bears.
Harry fell in love with the island when he was stationed there to train for his expedition to the North Pole in 2011. It was where he penned his best man’s speech for brother William’s wedding the same year.
Our source added: “It was no surprise to anyone in his circle that Harry took Meghan to his favourite spot in Norway. But it’s the ski trip that will really cement her place in his life.
“So far she hasn’t been involved in one of Harry’s big group bashes. If it all goes well, it’ll be another huge tick in the box for Meghan.”
