EX On The Beach stars Harriette Harper and Nicole Bass say their friendship helped them survive the most dramatic series yet.

The show returned earlier this month and fans have already seen unk Joe McLean punch a wall. Now the girls have warned there are more shocks to come. Harriette, 25, said: “There was lways an issue to deal with. I did get nxious at times. But I tried to deal with everything that went on in the est way I could by facing it head on. “It was tough because you’re thrown nto a villa with people you don’t know nd they’re all mental.” Nicole added: “I think my own anger ctually surprised me. At times it just ook over and I switched. I was so ngry. I had real emotion and I’m very p front and I keep it real. That’s just he way I am. “So there were cat fights. I don’t like tirrers and everything was happenng right in front of me. And I can lash with just about anyone if they *** me off.” Harriette added: “Doing the how plays with your emotions. here were days when I wanted o just grab my passport and o. You get homesick because ou can’t just pick up the hone and chat to your riends. You’re stuck there. “Of course the producers hrow in a lot of curve alls pretty much every ay.” Harriette became lose to Nicole, 25, within days. They urned to each ther for suport during i l ming. TV Editor ED GLEAVE She said: “We’re Essex girls and Nicole just got my personality. She knew where I was coming from.

“There were a lot of arguments but we were able to lean on each other because we were in similar situations when it came to dealing with exes.

“We both got that there were feelings involved. And we’re similar – we’re both fiery and say it how it is. We formed a great friendship.”

But the story could have been very different, as producers pitted Harriette and Nicole against each other from the outset.

After Harriette fell for stud Ross Worswick they sent him on a date with Nicole. And then they sent in Essex lad Jack Devlin – who has dated both the girls in the past. Nicole said: “They expected me and Harriette to clash but what happened was the exact opposite. We actually loved each other. We had so much in common. “We did row a bit when I first got into the house but after that we were good friends. We’ve stayed in touch since and now we have sleepovers together.” Harriette added: “When we first met there was tension. I can be quite territorial when it comes to guys I’m seeing. It was always going to be a bit of a problem when a new girl comes in. But we became best friends.” Fans will see Harriette and Nicole enjoy plenty of fun this series because both were happy to have sex on camera. And Nicole said: “Everyone will see later on in the series that I get back with one of my exes and it turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes of my life. That’s the only regret I have and I’ll probably hate myself for it.” Harriette added: “As the series goes on people will see a different side of me. I realised I didn’t want to take any more s***. I grew a thicker skin and thought ‘No, I’m not having that’. There was a lot of arguing but I stuck up for myself.” Ex On The Beach continues on Tuesday at 10pm on MTV.
