TRUMP: MY BAN WILL STAND

-

DONALD Trump vowed last night to overturn the decision of a US judge to reverse his controversial Muslim travel ban.

President Trump took to Twitter to blast the ruling by Seattle judge James Robart.

He said: “The opinion of this socalled judge, which essentially takes law enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned.

“When a country is no longer able to say who can, and who cannot, come in & out, especially for reasons of safety & security – big trouble!

“Interesting that certain MiddleEastern countries agree with the ban.

“They know if certain people are allowed in it’s death & destruction!

“We must keep ‘evil’ out of our country.” The President claims the JOE HINTON ban on refugees and travellers from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen is there to protect America.

Under the plan entry to the USA was to be suspended for 90 days, while the US refugee programme was to be stopped for 120 days and halted indefinitely for Syrian asylum seekers.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer hit out at the court ruling, saying: “At the earliest possible time, the Department of Justice intends to file an emergency stay of this outrageous order and defend the executive order of the President, which we believe is lawful and appropriate.

“The President’s order is intended to protect the homeland and he has the constitutional authority and responsibility to protect the American people.” Within hours of the court ruling major airlines including Qatar Airways, Air France, Emirates and Etihad Airways began allowing passengers from the Muslim nations to board US-bound jets.

US customs officials told the airlines they could accept passengers from the banned countries if they had the correct documentation and visas.

Meanwhile, thousands of Brits stood outside the US embassy in London yesterday to protest against the travel ban.

The crowd also blasted Prime Minister Theresa May for not condemning the President’s actions sooner.

Demonstrators held black banners adorned with blood stains and painted with slogans such as “No to Trump. No to War” and “Trump: Special Relationship? Just say no”.
