It is hard to imagine a tougher trio of world-class managers to lock horns with in your opening month as a fully fledged Premier League boss. Talk about diving head first into the deep end of elite football management – pitting your wits against three of the f inest footballin­g minds o n t he planet right now. But for new Swansea boss Paul HARRY PRATT Clement, it was an irresistib­le challenge, an opportunit­y way too good to turn down – and one to fully embrace.

After all, the ex-Bayern Munich, PSG, Real Madrid and Chelsea No.2 had long harboured aspiration­s of going head-to-head with the big boys as a manager in his own right.

Which is why, when Welsh strugglers Swansea came calling in the new year, he never considered it might be the right job at the wrong time.

Forget the frightenin­g prospect of facing Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City in the space of three weeks.

Forget the fact his lack of managerial experience would seemingly put him at an immediate disadvanta­ge against such modern-day greats.

As Clement revealed ahead of today’s trip to The Etihad, he has relished every minute of his second coming as a head coach.

The Swans supremo, 44, whose spell in charge of Championsh­ip club Derby last season ended in the sack, said: “Yes, I Iooked at those fixtures – but this is what I’d always wanted.

“It has always been a massive ambition of mine to be a manager on my own.
