World-record fee for Pogba will be cheap within the next two years

SAYS JOSE MOURINHO

CHRIS SMALLING would love dressing room joker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to stay beyond this summer – and have a laugh winning even more major honours. Ibrahimovic, 35, has won 28 trophies in four countries during his illustrious career and Smalling and his team-mates would lead the applause if he picks up another handful in his Manchester United stay under boss Jose Mourinho. One thing that is guaranteed as the Red Devils battle on four fronts is that the Swedish wind-up merchant will collect any upcoming silverware with a huge smile on his face. Smalling said: “He’s quite a joker. From the outside he can seem quite a hostile, serious man but he’s one of the jokers in the dressing room – a practical joker. “He just likes to wind people up, he’s one of those. “But I have to say that he’s got time for everyone. You can see when some of the kids come into training, he doesn’t ignore them. He’s a really good guy in our dressing room.” Ibrahimovic’s short-term deal runs out, officially, at the end of the season but there is already a clamour inside and outside Old STEVE MILLAR practice games. Smalling said: “I like to test myself against the best. Zlatan’s one who never likes to lose.

“He’s someone who trains how he plays and that transfers on to everyone else because he doesn’t like to lose. If he wins, he likes to rub it in and if we beat him, we like to rub it in. It’s good rivalry.

“He’s the best at what he does. I don’t think there are many players who can tick all the boxes he does.

“I’m lucky I don’t have to play against him in a game.”
