Who fans spark ‘kill Bill’ fears

-

DOCTOR Who bosses have hinted they will kill off companion Bill Potts in the new series.

A trailer released last night ahead of the Doctor’s April return showed sidekick Bill in action, but there is already speculation her days are numbered.

In the new footage Bill, played by Pearl Mackie, admits: “I’m having the time of my life, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world – even if it kills me.”

Moments after the trailer was released, one Doctor Who fan called Traci Blue tweeted: “What is going to happen to Bill?”

Another viewer wrote: “God, if Bill dies at the end of the season then what a waste of a character!”

Actor Matt Lucas also appears in the big-budget series as cyborg Nardole.

In the past Matt has only made guest appearances but he will now be on the show full time.

Earlier this month Matt said: “You do discover across the course of the series how Nardole was put together again and why he’s back.

“He’s not just there on a whim. He has a job to do. All becomes apparent throughout the series.”

It will be the last series with Peter Capaldi as The Doctor after he announced he is stepping down.

His final scenes will be in this year’s Christmas Day special.

Bookies have tipped Tilda Swinton to be the first woman to play the role.

Boss Steven Moffat is also stepping down after almost a decade and will be replaced by Broadchurch writer Chris Chibnall.
