TINA’S FURY OVER JUMP Stars want ‘danger show’ axed

-

TV Editor ACTRESS Tina Hobley is furious at Channel 4 chiefs for refusing to scrap The Jump.

Tina, 45, was one of several celebrities to suffer a serious injury on the winter sports show last year.

But it returned this month, despite facing calls for it to be axed.

And Tina is so angry she has refused to watch any of the new series.

She told the Daily Star Sunday: “I haven’t watched the show.

“I have no interest in watching it.”

Asked whether it should have been recommissioned, she added: “Channel 4

obviously thought it should be, so…”

Tina was hurt during training when the crew failed to leave the landing area.

The actress broke her arm in two places, her elbow came out of its socket and she tore a rotator cuff in her shoulder.

She also ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her knee – the same injury that left comedian Marcus Brigstocke, 43, unable to work for a year after his stint on the show in 2014.

At the time of Tina’s accident Channel 4 said it was caused by “human error” and added: “Extra procedures have now been put in place by the producers to ensure that this will not happen again.”

Tina was left unable to carry out basic tasks including driving, dressing, washing her hair and having a bath.

And the mum-of-three has not been able to work on television for the past year because of her injuries.

She said: “I want to get back to work. There are no words for how frustrating it is.”

The actress has been a regular on prime time shows including The Bill, Holby City and Coronation Street. But in recent months she has been confined to a Sunday presenting slot on Smooth Radio.

During last year’s Jump, gymnast Beth Tweddle, 31, broke bones in her back, swimmer Rebecca Adlington, 28, hurt her shoulder and singer Sarah Harding, 35, ruptured a knee ligament.

Former Strictly star Ola Jordan, 34, has told how suffering a leg injury on show two years ago left her with permanent damage.

Bosses insist they have improved safety but model Vogue Williams, 31, and cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins, 36, have already been forced to pull out this time.
