Fame or bust for Dannii

-

SINGER Dannii Barnes is facing life on the breadline after quitting her job for The Voice,

The 20-year-old has given up working as a waitress to concentrate on her bid for fame.

But she admitted she is already worried about whether she will be able to afford her next rent bill.

Dannii said: “I worked in a restaurant but I hated it.

“I was always being shouted at by someone and I thought, ‘this is not worth the little money I get from it’. “So I’ve taken a bit of a career break, which is really scary.”

Dannii sailed through the battle rounds on last night’s show after impressing coach Sir Tom Jones.

But she added: “I honestly don’t know how I’m going to pay my rent for next month because now I don’t have a Plan B.

“It means I have to do something with my music or I won’t be able to afford to live.

“It’s good because it means I can’t be lazy, but it has really put the pressure up.” Dannii, who is from Guildford, Surrey, was bullied at school.

But her appearances on The Voice have made her tormentors want to be pals with her.

She said: “They have come out of the woodwork and started messaging me to say things like, ‘babe, I’m so proud of you’.

“And I just think, ‘you were really horrible to me and now you’ve come running back’.”
