CRASH DRIVER LADY C IS ‘A TARGET COS I’M POSH’
SHAMED Lady Colin Campbell has claimed she was only put on trial over a crash she caused because she has a title.
The gobby I’m A Celebrity star, 67, is convinced being posh makes her a “moving target” when it comes to the law.
Last week she was found guilty at Brighton Magistrates’ Court of causing a three-car pile-up.
But letting rip in her only interview, Lady C insisted she should never have been summoned to court in the first place.
She told the Daily Star Sunday: “I am very disappointed that I was not treated the way anybody else would have been. After all, having a title shouldn’t mean that you should become a moving target.
“It’s extremely tiresome that had I been Mrs Campbell, the likelihood is that none of this would have ever happened.” The ED GLEAVE pile-up happened when Lady C was pulling on to the A27 in her Audi A6 estate near her home in Worthing, West Sussex, last May.
She was involved in a collision with an Audi A3, which was “catapulted” into the air and hit an oncoming vehicle.
Harry Court, who was driving the A3, was left unconscious. Lady C was later charged with driving without due care and attention – which she denied.
But after a brief trial last Thursday she was convicted and given a conditional discharge, told to pay £680 and handed three points on her licence.
She said: “I think they would have been better advised spending their money elsewhere, but maybe they regarded me as an easy target.”
