JOHN Paul McQueen is stunned when James Nightingale makes a marriage proposal. Bosses won’t say whether he accepts but with actor James Sutton having already filmed his final scenes it’s not looking good for their relationship.

All he wanted was for him to show him he is serious about their relationship. “He only recently told John Paul he loved him but that came after he shared a kiss with Ste. “There’s a lot coming up before John Paul’s exit. It’s going to be dramatic with a number of twists and turns.” Popular actor James, 34, has played gay schoolteacher John Paul since 2006 and is one of the soap’s longest-serving cast members. Back in 2014 he was involved in a harrowing male rape storyline that saw John Paul attacked by twisted schoolboy Finn O’Connor. A year later he made soap history when John Paul and Ste tied the knot in the first gay church wedding in TV soaps.
