Tom’s TV ‘cult’ rage
TOM Cruise is said to be “fuming” over a new TV show about a fictitious Hollywood star who is a member of a bizarre, cultlike group.
The Arrangement, which hit screens earlier this month, has as its lead character an A-list star called Kyle West.
He is shown “auditioning” women for romance and fronting a wacky religion called The Institute of the Higher Mind.
Bosses at US cable giant E! insist there is no similarity with real life.
But viewers have posted online comments claiming it comes across as a parody of Cruise and his highranking involvement with the Church of Scientology.
A source close to the Mission Impossible star, 54, said: “The similarities are more than striking.
“Tom thinks they are cashing-in on controversies about his private life.”
One fan posted: “If I were Tom Cruise, I’d be hopping mad. They’ve just hijacked his life story.”
