Jose: Luke can be one of the best
LUKE SHAW has received another boost as he attempts to rescue his season – this time from Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
Shaw, 21, has been a fringe figure under Mourinho since the former Chelsea boss took over from Louis van Gaal but made a substitute appearance for England in Germany last Wednesday night.
England manager Gareth Southgate felt the left-back needed a lift after a difficult few months.
And now Mourinho has given Shaw hope that he can still become United’s first-choice in his position.
The United boss said: “Because of his age, physicality, intensity, aggression and ability going forward, he can be the best.
“But to be the best, you need to work hard and that’s what he’s trying to do.”
Shaw will now hope for more starts in the United side in the remaining two months of the season.
