Will Peter finally lose his bottle?

RECOVERING alcoholic Peter Barlow contemplates drinking a bottle of whisky he stole from the Rovers. His latest battle with the booze comes after Toyah Battersby dumps him for cheating despite him protesting his innocence.

As viewers know, after he turned down her advances stalker Chloe Tipton took revenge on Peter by telling his dad Ken they had been enjoying a sizzling affair and he was back on the booze.

Swallowing her lies, Ken revealed all to Toyah and no one believed Peter was telling the truth.

So with everyone wrongly thinking he has had a relapse, he starts thinking about proving them right.

And having seen Toyah going off with her estranged husband Toby, who she left for him, Peter grabs a bottle of whisky from the pub.

Everyone will have to wait to see whether he drinks it.

A Corrie insider said: “Peter is on a really slippery slope but, for once, none of it is his doing.

“Chloe has managed to turn everyone against him with her lies and he is furious with his dad Ken for going straight to Toyah with her accusations.

“The fact he believed her says a lot about their relationship.

“Peter feels like he has lost everything.”

Our source added: “Seeing Toyah with Toby is the final straw and he decides that if everyone thinks he is drinking he may as well hit the bottle. It’s going to be a real test for him to resist.”
