JEN’S RACE HATE ORDEAL

-

JENNIFER Hudson says she has been the victim of race hate in the music industry.

In a warning to her finalist Mo Adeniran, she claimed bigotry is rife in showbiz.

Stars including Rihanna and Nicki Minaj have previously said racism is a major problem in the pop industry.

Rihanna claimed she witnesses racial profiling and the colour of her skin is brought up during business meetings. In an interview with the Daily Star Sunday, Jennifer said: “I think racism is just everywhere.

“I must agree with Rihanna and Nicki.

“I don’t think it’s ever been acknowledged before. But it’s there. I would like to think I can ED GLEAVE help change things. We can all only do what we do.

“But I also do what I do simply because I love it.”

Jennifer has survived almost a decade in the fiercely-competitive world of music and she credits her love for singing. She said: “When it’s tough I simply think, ‘Jennifer, you’re only singing a song, it’s not that serious’.

“And I’m doing it because I love it.

“Everything else doesn’t matter. As long as I’m able to do what I love that’s success to me.”

Jennifer helped Mo and Jamie Miller make it into this weekend’s final. She has been mentoring them behind the scenes on how to cope with the pressure of performing.

There have been claims Mo suffered an emotional meltdown off stage at a live show. Jennifer said: “Supporting the acts is what it’s all about. What else are we here for?

“Our mission and our purpose is to support them and point them in the right direction and make sure they’re prepared.

“Whatever I can do I try to do. I love to reassure them to go with their instincts.

“I would love to work with both Mo and Jamie.

“I think they have very promising futures and I think they are amazing talents.”
