Kenny’s dreams of making it perfect 10

-

KENNY MILLER is dreaming of becoming only the fourth Rangers player in the last 50 years to hit double figures against Celtic and leading his side into the cup final.

The veteran striker has a phenomenal 50 per cent strike rate with nine goals in 18 Old Firm clashes wearing Light Blue.

Ally McCoist is the undisputed derby goals king with an astonishing 27, while 1970s icons Derek Johnstone and Derek Parlane grabbed 11 and 10 respectively.

Miller (right) knows there would be no better feeling in what looks like being his penultimate Old Firm clash by joining that exclusive club and at the same time smashing Celtic’s Treble ambitions.

The skipper, 37, said: “Scoring for Rangers against Celtic is up there with the best feelings you’ll have in your career.

“Any striker enjoys goals but more so important ones – goals that win you matches, especially in Old Firm games.

“In big games, scoring is extra special. Some people define your career by these goals.

“It’ll be the same for goalkeepers like Andy Goram and Allan McGregor making crucial saves. You live for these moments.

“I remember my first Old Firm game well, the 5-1 win at Ibrox. I still remember me and Barry Ferguson running away in celebration after his LINDSAY HERRON goal. Pedro Caixinha has said it this week, Sunday is about us. It’s not about us stopping Celtic – it’s about Rangers getting to a final. “We want to win a cup. The bonus is, preventing Celtic doing a Treble comes along with it. If we can win, the talk of that will go away. “But our job is to get to the Scottish Cup Final.” Brendan Rodgers has warned his Celtic side will march on Hampden at full strength. The Hoops boss has the benefit of being able to pick from his full compliment. Skipper Scott Brown is available after Parkhead chiefs appealed the red card he received against Ross County last weekend, while Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig are also back. Rodgers said: “I’ve got the real luxury of every single player being available. That’s testament to how the players look after their bodies.” Hibernian 2 Aberdeen 3 IT WAS semi-final heartbreak for Hibs after fighting back from two down.

Grant Holt and Dylan McGeough’s efforts were in vain after Johnny Hayes’ deflected goal five minutes from time.
