BOSSES WANT STAR TO PERFORM

-

ZAYN Malik’s team are desperate for him to go on tour to stop his career being overshadowed by his old One Direction pals.

Sources say the chances of Zayn headlining a world tour are still only 50/50 due to his “crippling stage fright”.

The news comes just one day after former best mate and now chart rival Harry Styles launched his selftitled debut album with a secret gig London.

The pop hunk is likely to hit the No.1 spot on Friday – with predicted sales of 55,000.

That’s around the same amount Kasabian sold to finally knock Ed Sheeran off the top last week. in I can reveal Harry pre-sold nearly 22,000 copies of the album, giving him a huge start in this week’s chart race. But while his career is going from strength to strength, aids close to Zayn are worried he will be left behind. His team are said to be protective of the former 1D star’s mental state when it comes to performing. However, some members of his team are concerned about the effect not being able to sing live will have on his career. Zayn has been in therapy sessions to overcome his anxiety and public appearance terror. His record label RCA are desperate for him to announce a tour and “make some good money” after signing with them almost two years ago. Bosses will judge Zayn’s mindset and make decisions together about his live schedule when he finally performs two postponed shows in Japan next month.

But sources say his team are a lot more enthusiastic about live shows and festival appearances than Zayn is.

My source said: “Zayn is totally besotted with supermodel girlfriend Gigi Hadid, preferring to travel around the world with her than chase shows.

“There’s nothing locked in at all for a worldwide tour.

“There was talk about it last year but now everyone is waiting to see how he copes with his shows in Japan and to see if they even go ahead.”

Zayn’s solo career got off to the best possible start in early 2016.

He became the first British male ever to debut at No.1 in both the UK and US with their first single and album.

But he has since failed to capitalise on it due to his fear of performing.
