Champion Conte keen to make it a Double

boss. “Winning the league has made a good season a great one.

“But it will become a fantastic one if we do the Double.”

Conte also confirmed he will be at Chelsea next season despite strong interest in his services from Serie A giants Inter Milan.

And he also stated the club must do everything within its power to ensure they add to their squad – rather than lose any star performers or fringe players.

Brazilian winger Willian currently falls into the latter of those categories having failed to nail down a regular place in Conte’s starting line-up.

Yet Chelsea’s Player of the Year 12 months ago is adamant he plans to stay amid the prospect of collecting more silverware under Conte.

Willian, a late sub in the 1-0 victory over the Baggies, said: “My future is here with Chelsea. I have a contract until 2020 and I’m very happy.

“Yes, I know players always want to play but I also understand why I don’t play as much.

“I just try to help the team when I come on in the second half – and respect the decision of the manager.

“I think about the group and the team.

“But I have now won two titles at Chelsea. That’s why I’m so happy.”

Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Nemanja Matic (below) has paid tribute to the work ethic introduced by Conte at the start of the season – and maintained throughout. The Serbian star reckons that has been the key factor behind their resurgence. Matic, 28, said: “We’ve worked very hard this season with Antonio. It’s not easy, every day brings a hard session.

“But I think this was good for us. Game by game we improved – and winning the league is the result. “The manager has shown he can improve the players and motivate us to do even better.”
