SCHEMING Max Branning visits Charlie Cotton in a bid to make sure his brother Jack doesn’t get to keep baby Matthew.

On Friday night viewers saw Jack punch Charlie after he said horrible things about his dead wife Ronnie Mitchell.

Sympathetic Max tells Jack he may have just blown his chances of keeping hold of Matthew, who he has cared for since Ronnie’s death on their wedding day in January.

But tomorrow night viewers will see Jack discover that he could still have a chance of keeping Matthew – so Max decides to pay Charlie a visit.

As viewers know, Max is plotting the downfall of those who did nothing when he was wrongly jailed for Lucy Beale’s murder. Despite Jack losing Ronnie and her sister Roxy – his daughter Amy’s mum – Max wants to cause him even more suffering.

He goes to see Charlie and viewers will have to wait to see how far he is prepared to go to get his way.

An EastEnders insider said: “Jack has no idea Charlie’s return is all down to his brother. Max got Dot to call Charlie after pretending to be concerned for Jack. He has manipulated the situation DAN Spencer is horrified when he discovers tearaway teen Josh unconscious at the cricket pavilion after arranging to meet him.

As viewers know, Josh and his mate Jamie have terrorised the village and were responsible for the brutal attack on Eric Pollard which was witnessed by Dan.

Instead of stepping in to help, the mechanic froze as the bullies walked into the shop with their baseball bats. After later having his tyres slashed, nervous Dan finally identified the boys to the police. But when they threatened to hurt his girlfriend Kerry and daughter Amelia, he was forced to withdraw his statement.

Eric and his son David were furious so Dan tries to make up for letting them down by stepping in to help Jacob Gallagher who is also getting a hard time from the thugs. and poor Jack is in bits at the thought of losing Matthew. He knows Ronnie would never want Charlie to get custody and feels like he is letting her down.”

He realises he has made the situation worse by punching Charlie but has a glimmer of hope he could still get to keep Matthew.

Fearing his plan might fail, Max goes round to see Charlie in a bid to make sure he gets the little lad.”

Watch the scenes as Max goes to see Charlie tomorrow night. The sweet-natured schoolboy trashes the boys’ bikes but Dan tells the pair he caused the damage. He arranges to meet Josh to pay for the damage and is stunned to find him with a bleeding head wound.

An insider said: “Josh is a real nasty piece of work. He doesn’t care who he hurts and it was only a matter of time before someone retaliated. “Sadly for Dan the attacker is nowhere to be seen. He’d arranged to meet Josh so it doesn’t look good for him to be standing over his lifeless body.

“Dan realises how it might look as he calls for help. Whether he goes through with the call remains to be seen.”

Viewers will be able to watch the scenes and find out what Dan decides to do

this Thursday.
