GAME OF DEATH

-

JOE HINTON THERE are fears Islamic State have hijacked an online game to brainwash children, the Daily Star Sunday can reveal.

Fanatics are peddling hate by recreating beheadings, suicide bombings and Bataclan-style massacres.

The savage scenarios are played out in Garry’s Mod, a game in which players can create their own worlds and characters.

The “user-generated modification” is aimed at kids as young as four.

Some teachers use the game in chemistry and physics lessons.

But the ability to role play with guns and explosives is being exploited by jihadis.

They are posting shocking videos of their gaming antics on YouTube as part of their twisted attempt to radicalise and recruit members.

One clip showing the black Isis flag over a pro-jihadi soundtrack features a car being blown up in the desert while a voice shouts “Allahu Akbar!”.

The scene then cuts to a terrorist execution by a gunman wielding an AK-47 rifle. In another scene, a suicide bomber blows himself up outside a government building before a man is beheaded with a machete.

Three soldiers are then lined up and shot leaving a blood-spattered wall. A bridge is also destroyed by a hidden bomb.

One clip titled “Isis recruitment video” has two gamers taking the roles of Kalashnikov-wielding Isis killers. They can be heard spouting extremist bile while playing.

In another role play scene two masked assassins flank a civilian on his knees. Before opening fire, they declare: “We will lead the world in a blaze of glory to a new age as we have had enough of you Western pigs. Allahu Akbar!”

Other videos posted online show police being shot and packed buildings being rammed by a car full of suicide bombers.

The realistic clips have attracted scores of comments glorifying terror and extremism.

Some add-ons available for download to enhance the game play reportedly contain Isis propoganda.

One youngster complained on an internet forum dedicated to the game: “I’ve been playing gmod SINGLEPLAYERS and recently ISIS flags have been appearing all over the map randomly.”
