Euro trip not for Una
FORMER The Saturdays singer Una Healy has ruled herself out of representing Ireland in next year’s Eurovision Song contest. But X Factor runner-up Saara Aalto is ready to represent Finland or the UK in the singing comp. Former Eurovision backing singer Una is 10/1 with the bookies to sing for Ireland. But she told me: “I would love to write a song for Eurovision but I wouldn’t sing in it. I’ve been on that stage as a backing singer and I know how daunting it would be.
“I think with the territorial voting system I wouldn’t stand a chance, so there’s no real benefit to doing it.”
Saara, who has auditioned and failed twice to represent Finland, said: “It’s my dream to perform at Eurovision for Finland but if they don’t want me I would be so proud to represent the UK.” ICONIC disco brands Studio 54 and Paradise Garage are joining underground legends Horse Meat Disco at next weekend’s GALA festival.
It looks set to be a stonker of a Bank Holiday Sunday in London’s Brixton – and tickets are available at thisisgala.co.uk
