Bond girl tribute to ‘best 007’

-

SIR Roger Moore’s final Bond girl says the star’s greatest achievement was making millions for charity – not his role as 007.

Former model Tanya Roberts, who worked with Moore on A View to a Kill, insisted he found his calling doing good for others after becoming a goodwill ambassador for Unicef in 1991.

She revealed how devoted family man Moore – who died of cancer aged 89 on Tuesday – was kinder and classier than secret agent Bond who was licensed to kill.

Tanya, who played Stacey Sutton in the 1985 movie, says the actor remained a friend for life – unlike some self-centred Hollywood stars.

Speaking from her Los Angeles home, Tanya, 61, said: “Roger was the best James Bond ever. But I think his charity work for Unicef was great and admirable, his best role.

“Roger had gotten so much from the Bond films, but he didn’t let that take over his life. The way he threw himself into charity work was incredible.

“I don’t know many other stars who do that. His energy, passion and politeness were unique.”

Tanya, who was Moore’s final bed partner as 007 in 1985, added: “My fondest memory of him would probably have been how cool he was in the nude scenes.

“I was a bit nervous, naturally, but he was just very considerate, a total professional and made me feel at ease. He was a pleasure to work with.”
