5 AFTER Midnight signed to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco in January but they hadn’t any contact with their music mogul boss until Friday’s BGT semi-final.
Last years X Factor finalists – Kieran Alleyne, Jordan Lee and Nathan Lewis – performed their debut single Up In Here for the first time on the ITV talent contest.
Chatting to me just before the show, Nathan said: “We are really nervous about performing in front of Simon. It feels like we are getting judged again.
“We haven’t seen Simon since signing. But we know he’s all over the project and we’ve heard what he thinks. He had to sign off on our first single, so he must like it.”
The R&B trio haven’t heard from former XF mentor Louis Walsh either.
Jordan added: “We haven’t spoken to Louis since the tour. There’s been no falling out we’ve all just been busy.”
Up In Here is out to download now. The group’s debut album is scheduled for a November release. KIERAN from 5 After Midnight wants to team up with fellow new dad Liam Payne in the recording studio.

Kieran said: “I would love to work with Liam. I really like his new single and think we could do something cool.
“We could swap baby tips too.”
Kieran split with his baby’s momma, Sophie Johnson, just before the birth. But despite the break he told me: “We are still incredibly close.
“I was in there for the whole labour. Luckily, I’m not squeamish but I did try and stay up the top end. I did have a quick look but quickly retreated.”
Defending Liam’s controversial choice of baby name Kieran added: “I wouldn’t have chosen it but I never want anyone to fault me for picking Jaxon, so I’m not going to criticise Liam or Cheryl for choosing Bear.” SHOCK horror – model eats ice cream!
