EVANS’ CITY RECALL Star’s hall of fame return

Cracking brekkie for schoolgirl Charlotte

-

SCHOOLGIRL Charlotte Rayner got an eggs-traordinary surprise when she cracked an egg for brekkie and found a whole second one inside. It came after she had broken five extra large free range eggs into the pan and found they were all double-yolkers. The nine-year-old said: “I called my mum over because I couldn’t believe they were all double yolks. “Then when we got to the last one and found the egg fully formed inside the egg, we both yelled. When we Googled it and realised how rare it was we couldn’t believe it.” Mum Kirsty Shaw-Rayner, from FELICITY CROSS Felsted, Essex added: “They were our usual eggs. It was just astonishing.” A spokeswoman for British Egg Information Service said: “An egg in an egg is rare but it is not completely unheard of. It always occurs in young hens with developing reproductive systems.

“Finding a dozen double yolkers isn’t uncommon, because they will usually come from the same flock of the same age.”

The probability of finding double-yolkers is 1-1000, making Charlotte’s find eggs-tra special. MANCHESTER City are set to reintroduce Ched Evans to the club’s Hall of Fame.

The player, who was jailed for rape and then cleared in a retrial, had been removed from the hall after his original conviction.

But supporters of the 28-year-old have campaigned to have his name honoured again now that he has been cleared in court.

And sources close to the club claim that this will happen by the start of next season.

The player was one of many former Blues stars who successfully graduated from the club’s prestigious youth academy to the first team.

This led to their names, photographs and details, being prominently displayed in the Hall of Fame at the club’s £200m Academy HQ at the Etihad Campus.

His profile was removed following complaints by parents after he was jailed for rape in 2012

A close family friend said: “Ched would love to have his name back on the wall after years of trauma.

“He has cleared his name and deserves to be credited with this success.

“We are campaigning to try to highlight the fact he is DON HALE still a star and that he was wrongly convicted.” The friend also pointed out that another former City youth star Joey Barton still has his details on the wall. Barton has been banned from all football-related activities for 18 months after breaking FA betting rules. He was also sentenced to six months in jail in 2008 for assault and affray. Evans, who spent two-and-ahalf years in jail, successfully appealed against his conviction and was found not guilty at a subsequent retrial. He made numerous appearances for Manchester City in the Premier League before being transferred to Sheffield United for £2million, where he later became a prolific goalscorer and their player of the season. Evans had hoped to return to the club on his release from prison but a public backlash prevented him from training at Sheffield. Attempts to join Oldham Athletic and other clubs also fell flat. He eventually agreed to join Chesterfield FC and last month he finally re-signed for Sheffield United. Manchester City declined to comment last night.
