Bel rings for Dendo

-

The England midfielder, 27, has endured a miserable couple of years with City – and finished last season well down Pep Guardiola’s first-team pecking order.

Despite stating he wants to stay and fight for his place, Delph is resigned to being another casualty in the major clearout already under way at The Etihad.

And that news is sparking significant interest in the ex-Aston Villa playmaker across the Premier League.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is targeting Delph as a possible replacement for midfielder Joey Barton – hit with an 18-month FA ban for breaking betting rules.

But the Clarets are not alone in their admiration of the Three Lions man, who cost Man City a cut- price £8million in July 2015.

Newcastle boss Rafa Bentiez, armed with significant funds after winning promotion, believes Delph would bring invaluable experience and steel to the Toon squad.

And now West Brom have entered the race for Delph – also wanted by Scottish Treble winners Celtic – after Darren Fletcher’s shock decision to snub a new deal at The Hawthorns and join rivals Stoke on a free. ANDERLECHT’S talented defensive midfielder Leander Dendoncker says a decision on his future is imminent.

When asked about the prospect of a move to the Premier League, Belgium star Dendoncker, 22, revealed that talks between his agent and Anderlecht will take place soon.

“I don’t know anything yet. I have spoken with my agent and I am awaiting his opinion. I am focused on the national team – and after we will see,” he said.

Everton are heading a list of Premier League clubs while Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked. Dendoncker added: “Those are nice clubs.”
