Bill sex case a mistrial
BILL Cosby walked free from court yesterday after the judge in his sexual assault case declared a mistrial.
The comedy star, 79, was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004, while over a dozen women claimed to have suffered the same fate.
He could only be prosecuted for the allegations made by Ms Constand and faced up to ten years in jail if convicted at court in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
Judge Steven O’Neil was left with no option but to declare the mistrial as jurors were still “deadlocked” after 52 hours.
Prosecutors said that they will retry the case. The judge told Cosby that he remains charged and on bail.
