KNIFE MAN IN CUSTODY

POLICE say they are “keeping an open mind” after a man was Tasered outside the Palace of Westminster when he allegedly reached for a knife.

Counter-terror officers have not declared the episode a terrorist incident.

The bearded suspect, in his 30s, was arrested on Friday morning on suspicion of possessing a knife and is still in custody.

The incident was yards from where Pc Keith Palmer was murdered in March and comes amid heightened security after the Manchester and London Bridge atrocities.
