‘Visas for parents’ bid

MORE than 22,000 people have signed a petition urging the Home Office to give the parents of a Syrian victim of the fire visas so they can attend his funeral.

Mohammed al-Haj Ali was trapped in his flat.

His last words were: “The smoke is getting in, the smoke is getting in, we are going to die, we are going to die.”

His brother, Omar who survived, said he and his two brothers had come from Syria for a better life.
