Pitch perfect in just one month

PITCH Battle’s first winning choir only formed a month before their audition.

The Leeds Contemporary Singers stormed to victory in last night’s first round after wowing judges Kelis and Gareth Malone.

Their director Craig Lees said: “We are all part of a bigger choir but our group of nine only started this year, specifically for this show. We had just a month to get our material ready. “There was some intense prep. We had workshops, visits from our choreographer and our vocal coach.

“We have really bonded. I’ve no doubt we’ll stay together, regardless of the outcome on the show.”

Last night they ED GLEAVE performed with guest judge Will Young. They will sing with him again in next month’s final in a bid to win the top prize of £50,000.

Craig said: “We’ll stay true to our own sound and style but will throw in a few extra tricks.

“We’re looking at different songs so we can connect with the people watching at home. “In the final we’re hoping some of our material will be great pop stuff they can jump around to. We already know which piece we’ll be singing with Will.”
