Big shows battle to sign Coleen

COLEEN Rooney is at the centre of a bidding war between Dancing on Ice and Strictly. Both shows are desperate to sign up the wife of footballer Wayne. Liverpool-born Coleen, 31, shot to fame because of her relationship with the Manchester United ace. But she has become a big name in her own right, and one of Britain’s most talked-about women. Strictly is back for a new series in September, while Dancing on Ice is expected to make a long-awaited return in the new year. Bosses on the ED GLEAVE rival shows are both prepared to “break the bank” to get Coleen, left.

A TV industry insider last night said: “Coleen is very hot property. She has a massive following of fans. But she is also married to the former England captain.

“With any project she does, Wayne is bound to be by her side supporting her. Having him in the studio audience would be great for any show.”

Over the years mum-of-three Coleen has worked on a string of high-profile projects. She fronted her own series Coleen’s Real Women for ITV, and released an exercise DVD. She has also fronted ad campaigns for companies including Littlewoods.

Our source added: “Coleen is someone the public really relate to, so she’d be great for reality TV.

“This would be the perfect chance for Coleen to show what she’s made of.”

Stars rumoured to be competing in Strictly this year include Joan Collins, fitness guru Joe Wicks, singer Matt Goss and Olympian Paula Radcliffe.

Meanwhile, Dancing on Ice chiefs are reportedly lining up Katie Price, Steven Gerrard’s wife Alex and footballer Jamie O’Hara.
