Hull of a deal for Maguire
HARRY MAGUIRE hit the financial jackpot when he moved to Leicester last week – and so did Hull.
The central defender saw his wage jump from a basic £18k-a-week to £80k-a-week at Leicester.
And the relegated Tigers received a fee of £17million for a player who only had a year remaining on his contract.
Other interested clubs, including Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle, were prepared to pay at most around £10m.
And Maguire, 24, would probably have been offered half in wages what Leicester are paying.
But Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare (above) wanted the highly regarded Maguire through the door as quickly as possible and made sure their offer killed off the interest of other clubs.
Shakespeare saw him as a priority signing as his experienced first-choice central defenders, Wes Morgan and Robert Huth, are 33 and 32 respectively.
