And they’re off ...the booze CRACKDOWN AFTER BRAWLS

Jezza rocks Glastonbury

-

ROYAL Ascot racegoers could face a booze crackdown after this year’s event saw a topless man brawling and a glass of beer thrown at a jockey.

Italian rider Andrea Atzeni was pelted with alcohol as he cantered down to the start of the final race on Friday.

And at Ladies’ Day the day before, a shirtless man, inset, was seen squaring up to rivals before crashing through fencing and knocking a woman over.

David Eves, of Iwade, Kent, ripped off his top as he offered to fight suited pals Lee Marriott and Michael Darcy, both from Brentwood, Essex.

He claimed they started the altercation after he sat in one of their chairs with his EMILY HALL wife Sally-Ann, 40. Now experts at Alcohol Concern say the racecourse should do more to curb the consumption of large quantities of alcohol. Spokesman Andrew Misell said: “There needs to be less emphasis on selling alcohol on course and a greater willingness to stop serving people when they’ve had enough.” Mr Atzeni, who had ridden Stradivarius to victory in the previous race, said: “I was cantering down to post and it was a plastic glass with beer in it. “It missed my horse but they properly chucked it. I was two or three metres off the rail and the glass of beer went straight in front of me. “I couldn’t really do much. There surely LABOUR leader Jeremy Corbyn got a hero’s welcome during a rousing speech at Glastonbury yesterday. The left-wing politician, 68, spoke about terrorism, racism and British politics from the festival’s Pyramid Stage to deafening cheers from the audience. He also hit out at the American president. He said: “Look on the wall, that surrounds this wonderful festival. “There’s a message on that wall for President Donald Trump. And you should have been some security there.” The racecourse’s reputation has slumped in recent years.

In 2011 there was a mass brawl that had to be broken up by members of a military band. Other punters have been filmed unable to even stand.

A spokesman for Ascot said: “With 70,000 people in attendance, sadly it is difficult to eradicate all anti-social behaviour.

“Our security staff can and do remove people and we operate a system whereby staff who identify anti-social behaviour give out a warning.”

Yesterday, model Kelly Brook enjoyed the final day of the racing extravaganza wearing a very striking pale pink hat with roses.

She was spotted taking selfies on a balcony before posting the snaps on social media. know what it says? ‘Build bridges, not walls’.”

Mr Corbyn, who took to the stage with festival founder Michael Eavis, also highlighted the recent terror attacks on Britain as well as the plight of refugees.

He said: “Let’s stop the denigration of refugees.

“They are all human beings just like all of us here today.” Festival-goer Martin Worsnip said afterwards: “I was more excited about Corbyn than anyone else this weekend.

“He was inspiring. I joined the Labour Party because of him.”
